Friday Top Gambers:  Joanna Tinsley from Melvin and Jeremy Hefler of Kennedale were the last two left in the Friday Top Gamblers. Joanna was on a roll this weekend (as you'll note later) and it started here.  When the tree fired, Joanna cut the tree right off the post with a .0014 reaction time to Jeremy's excellent .018.  She needed all of that as her dragster ran a little off with a 4.863 on a 4.84 dial.  Jeremy ran closer, with the boards showing a 6.788 on a 6.77 for runner up.
Friday Modified Gambers:  In the Modified Gamblers final, Jeremy Hefler drew Ty Casey for the last round.  Jeremy was on it, hitting a killer .003 reaction time to Ty's .021.  Ty blew the tires off about 60' out and that was that.  Jeremy coasted to a 6.89 on a 6.30 for the win and Ty putted on through the clocks at 35 MPH.
Dialing for Dollars: The Top ET bunch finally scored in Dialing for Dollars.  Jeremy Smith claimed the cash with a 4.8304 on a 4.83 dial.

A. J. Enterprizes Top ET: Vance Lakey and Eddie Browder didn't pull any punches in the Top ET final.  Vance got the advantage off the line with a quick .002 light to Eddie's .016.  Both drivers ran dead on with Vance closest to the dial at 5.413 on a 5.41 for a whopper .0058 package and the win.  Eddie also ran dead on with a 5.419 on a 5.41 dial.

Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET: Seems like it was dead on with an X night at the drag strip.  Robert Schoemer took the win in Modified ET and used a dead on pass to get it done.  8.545 on an 8.54 with a .077 light was the winning pass.  Runner up Gary Metcalf had a better .063 light but ran off a bit with a 7.10 on a 7.07 dial.  Robert was paired against a tough competitor in the final.  Gary came down from Lubbock to race with us this weekend.  Gary is the Summit Super Series No Box champ from Amarillo Dragway.

Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster: Kimmie Lakey and Whitley Bettis will run off today's Final at the Shootout.  Kimmie's car was accidentally damaged in the pits and the two ladies decided to finish the round after Kimmie's the car has been repaired.
Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Lance fulgham was one of the few people this weekend to hand Joanna Tinsley a runner up time slip.  It only took a .0126 package to do it.  Lance did it with a .005 light and a dead on 5.547 on a 5.54 dial.  Joanna had a great .016 reaction but the dragster ran a little off dial at 4.90 against a 4.88.
TSTC West Texas Pro Footbrake: This rent-a-racer thing is about to take off and you'd best get in line for the best deals before the rental folks wise up to the demand.  Bobby Knox  is our local rental expert.  If your race car is getting a little clapped out or has a few missing parts, check with Bobby and he can hook you up with a high performance loaner at a special low rate.  Bobby drove his latest borrowed racer to a runner up finish in Pro Footbrake.   Ty Casey took with win with a .079 reaction and a 6.37 on a 6.32 dial.  Bobby ran pretty close to the dial with a 6.57 on a 6.55 but needs to have that accellerator pedal looked at since the Camaro didn't seem to leave the line on time.  .

Whitten Inn Street Money: Robert Hector cinched up the Street Money title and took the win tonight to top off a great season.  Robert faced off against Donny Lowrance from Colorado City in the final round.  Robert got the better numbers with a .079 reaction and a 8.79 on an 8.75 dial.  Donny broke out, running a too quick 8.22 under his 8.29 dial to runner up.

Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle and Mickey Thompson Tires of Texas Winner: Donnie Oliver (right) and John Choate celebrate in the Winner's Circle, just because.  Donnie capped off a well raced season in our Motorcycle class, winning today's race, winning the track championship and scoring a set of Mickey Thompson tires on top of all that.   The final against John was a double breakout race, with Donnie having the better .062 light and running a close under 6.25 on a 6.28.  John was a bit later with a .111 light and blasted out the back end with a 6.21 under a 6.28 dial.
Abilene Outlaws - Bracket Finals Runoff
Team Finals: The first round was complete for all classes and the 2nd roun of Modified was also finished.  The rain started after about twos pair of 2nd round Jrs had been run, so round two Jrs will be thrown out.  The prize monies will be divided among the participating tracks based on the racers still in competition (about 140 racers).  Each track will stage a run off for each class (and each team if the track brought two teams) between their racers still  in competition. The run off winners (one Mod, Jr, Top) from each track/team will meet at Redline Raceway on Sunday November 15 for the final run off for the division Ironman and IHRA Silver Card awards.
NOTE- As of today, B Team Top and Jrs are still to be decided.
A Team Top ET Run Off : Joanna Tinsley and Stu West were the last two left at the end of the Top ET A Team run off.  Joanna came away with the win, using a super quick .002 reaction time and an almost 4.86 on a 4.85 dial.  Stu West had settle for runner up, breaking out with a 6.03 under his 6.06 dial.
A Team Modified ET Run Off: Ty Casey and Chris Kelly faced off in the final round to see which racer would represent Abilene on the Modified A Team.  Ty went .006 on the tree and drove the finish line with a 6.33 on a 6.29 dial to earn his spot at Redline.  Chris had a close 7.29 on a 7.27 but an .063 nap at the tree made him late to the party.  Chris still gets to go as pit crew for wife Debbie who is our B Team modified racer at the Finals.
SUNDAY - SUNDAY - SUNDAY
Just as a reminder about Sundays - we do a regular track prep, so if you have some testing to do on your race car, bring it out.  It's only $15 at the gate and $5 for a trailed car test-n-tune card.  And, you can go as many laps as you can stand.

Sterling Volkswagen Street Eliminator Series: Theresa Dempsey took the win in the last 2009 Street Series race, beating up on a redlighting Joe Collier in the last round.  Theresa had a .064 light and ran 7.62 on a 7.59 dial.  Joe busted both ends, redlighting and breaking out too. Robert Schoemer didn't make it to the final, but he went enough rounds to clinch his win as the 2009 Street Series Champion.
I'm Callin' You Out Big Fella Match Race: Roy Blackstock took on a big bracket racer - big, as in Western Star tractor big.  And the truck took the win.  If we are recalling right, the truck was dialed about 14.60 (guessing here) and Roy was dialed at 6.40.  That's an 8 second head start.  Roy didn't red light or fall asleep but he did break out, giving the win to the truck.  And the truck ran pretty darn close to the dial.   Sunday is the day to call out your friends, whether they are in a new Camaro, a Mustang GT on spray or a Freightliner.  Bring it, run it.
