| Nothing to see here - we got rained out on Friday |
| Dialing for Dollars: Dustin Douglas took home half the pot in the Dialing for Dollars, driving his Jr. Dragster to a 7.9013 on a 7.90 dial. Casey Longmire almost had it, running 4.8827 on a 4.88 dial. He only missed it by .0014, that's like a mile around here. |
A. J. Enterprizes Top ET: This race's Mickey Thompson Tires of Texas Winner is Robert Fain of Abilene. Joanna Tinesley of Melvin took runner up honors because of a bitty breakout. Robert went .063 on the tree and drove the Ranchero to a 5.55 on a 5.53 dial to win. Joanna had a killer .003 light but the dragster went too quick, clocking a 4.923 under her 4.93 dial. Joanna is todays All Class Quick winner, so she came close to a double up. |
Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET: Losing Pro Footbrake last week by .005 must have been eating on Jay Campbell. He brought the Camaro back this week and pretty much beat up on all the other footbrake cars and doubled up with a win in Modified and a win in Pro. In the Modified final, it was Jay and Gerald Middleton of Abilene. Jay had a .094 reation time and ran 6.09 on a 6.07 dial to get the win light. Gerald beat Jay on the tree with a .048 light, but the truck didnl't run the number and fell off to a 7.57 on a 7.48 dial. |
| Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster: Dustin Douglas just got warmed up with the Dial for Dollars win and carried that through the Jr Dragster all the way to the final. Codi Bettis of De Leon was lined up against Dustin in the last round. Codi got him on the tree with a .089 to Dustin's .107 but at the stripe if was Dustin with a 7.922 on a 7.91 dial while Codi broke out with a 13.071 on a 13.08. |
| Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Joanna Tinsley and Wynette Hudgins of Clyde met up in the All Class Quick final round and it was Joanna that squeaked out the win. Squeak is right - how about .01 at the finish. It was close all the way - Joanna cut a .021 light and posted a 4.945 on a 4.93. Wynette had an almost equal .028 light and ran a hair farther off, lighting up the boards with a 5.558 on a 5.54 dial. |
| |
| TSTC West Texas Pro Footbrake: Jay Campbell and Ty Casey hashed it out in the Pro final round. Jay had the better light with a .031 against Ty's .060 and at the stripe it was a double breakout with Jay running 6.115 under a 6.12 while Ty drove a 6.27 under his 6.29 dial. |
Whitten Inn Street Money-: Dean Kennedy drove the Tahoe to a 10.90 on a 10.86 dial for the win in Street Money. Diane Zientek drove the stripe too hard and broke out, running 8.22 on an 8.28 dial.
| Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: Mike Rodgers (right with the dice) met Frankie Berry in the bike final round. Mike used a better .093 light and a 6.70 on a 6.67 dial to win. Frankie did almost as well, with a .132 light and a 6.696 off his 6.63 dial. |
After hours Gamblers |
| Top ET Gamblers: We're thinking this final was the closest race of the night. It was a heads up, 4.83 dial fest between Joe Collier and Clayton Nance. Clayton got the better end of the face off by a mere .007. Nance hit a .022 light and ran 4.833 on a 4.83 dial. Joe was right there, but just a hair off. Joe went .025 on the tree and ran a 4.837 on a 4.83 dial. |
| Mod Gamblers: Robert Hector parked Ty Casey in the runner up spot after the Modified Gamblers final. Robert went.029 on the tree and ran a dead on 8.645 on an 8.64 dial. Tye had a decent .045 light but ran off a bit, showing a 6.32 on a 6.29 dial. |
| SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY |
| Dialing for Dollars: Clayton Nance won the Sunday Dialing for Dollars, running 4.8521 on a 4.85 dial. Clayton cleared Chris Kelly's 7.3331 on a 7.33 dial by just .001. |
A. J. Enterprizes Top ET: Vance Lakey hit a perfect .0007 reaction time in the final round of Top ET. Ty Casey also hit the tree hard - but just a hair too hard, going -.005 red. Vance ran it out to a 5.445 on a 5.43 dial and Ty drove out a 5.032 on a 5.01. We figure even with the red, Vance only got there .002 in front. |
Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET - Mickey Thompson Tires of Texas Winner: Tommy Wade got the the win and the tires in the Modified ET , beating out Chris Kelly on the last lap of the day. The two footbrakers declared their lights would be "great or red!" and sure enough, Tommy hit a .013 reaction time, good enough to beat Chris' -.0012 red light. Both ran it out for a double breakout lap - The truck ran 7.72 on a 7.74 dial with the Falcon running under a 7.36 dial with a 7.340. The numbers were close every way you looked. Finish margin for the Falcon was .017 running .019 under with the truck going .016 under. If not for that red light, there would have been no brake tapping at the stripe on that lap. |
| Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster: Dustin Douglas had a double up weekend, winning Jr again on Sunday. Kimie Lakey claimed the runner up spot. Both racers dialed a 7.90 to stage a rare heads up final round. It was over at the start, with Kimmie going -.171 red to Dustin's .061 reaction time. If not for the red start, this one would have gone right to the end. Dustin ran 7.919 on his 7.90, Kimie ran 7.923 on her 7.90. Let's see - thats two wins and a Dial for Dollars win for Dustin in one weekend - when this kid gets in a big car, we are all in so much trouble. |
| Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Joanna Tinsley enjoyed her double-double win in All Run Quick, winning All Class on Saturday and then taking out Clayton Nance in the Sunday final. All green lights on this final and Joanna had the better with a .021 to Clayton's .036. It was close at the big end with both cars running a little slow on the dial. Joanna finished with a 4.979 on a 4.96 and Clayton ran 4.89 over his 4.87 dial. Finish margin was about .02 on this pass. That's what - maybe 4 feet at 138 MPH? |
| TSTC West Texas Pro Footbrake: In the Pro Footbrake final round, it was Chris Kelly in the Falcon up against the Grider Special rental Camaro piloted by Bobby Knox. Bobby went a little red on the start which was too bad since otherwise this was a close double breakout race. At the tree it was Chris with a .013 light to Bobby's -.047. On the top end, the Falcon ran 7.351 under a 7.37 dial to the Camaro's 6.607 under a 6.63. Dewey's not around and yet here is his car in the finals - figure that. |
Whitten Inn Street Money-: Theresa Dempsey ran dead on her dial to grab the win in Street money, beating out Robert Hector for the cash. Theresa went .089 on the tree and ran 8.125 on her 8.12 dial for the win. Robert had a better .076 light but ran too fast, posting a 8.65 under his 8.69 dial.
| Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: Frankie Berry (left) went from Saturday runner up to Sunday winner, beating Donnie Oliver in the motorcycle final round. Frankie's winning numbers rang up as .085 on the tree and 6.75 on a 6.62 dial. Donnie took second with a .069 light and a 6.44 on a 6.29 dial. |
