| We had another double points, larger payout race on Saturday July 4th. Rain and thunder threatened us late and we pushed to get the race finished as quick as we could. We got done a little early and decided to throw in a jumbo, all out knock down drag out pit bike race. The big storm thundered, the wind blew - and it just fizzeled out. We were scheduled to have a make up race on Sunday, but our rain out make up race was rained out. Go figure. |

| In The Hot Seat: Steve Longmire's Big Block Twin golf cart (really) lost a couple of bolts out of the exhaust manifold, and it promptly burned a hole right through the seat. You can take it from there. |

Saturday
Eliminators |
A. J. Enterprizes Top ET: Ed Browder of Abilene was just a little too quick on the tree in the final round of Top, going -.005 red to give the win to Joe Collier of Clyde. |
Pinnacle Countertop Solutions Modified ET: In an All Merkel Modified final, Jay Campbell used a dead on 6.135 on a 6.13 to grab the win away from Chris Kelly. The reactions were very close, with Jay hitting a .034 to Chris' .037 but the Falcon ran a bit off expectations, running 7.361 on a 7.34 dial. |
| Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster - Mickey Thompson Tires of Texas Winner: Dustin Douglas took the win in Jr. Dragster after Drew Bracey of Lubbock went a red (pink?) -.002 on the tree. Dustin also claimed a fresh pair of tires from Mickey Thompson. |
| Rhino Linings of Abilene All Class Quick: Stu West of New Braunfels killed the tree with a .0002 (thats 2 ten-thousands) reaction time and ran 6.17 on a 6.14 dial for the win in Quick. Runner up Joe Collier went dead on with a 4.913 on a 4.91 dial, but his .031 light left too much room at the stripe and allowed Stu to take the win. |
| TSTC West Texas Pro Footbrake: Ty Casey of Abilene hit .008 on the tree and drove a 6.32 on a 6.26 dial to claim the win in Pro Footbrake. Tommy Wade of Abilene ran a closer 7.77 on a 7.75 but his .079 light let Ty drive to the win. |
| Whitten Inn Street Money: Adam Kennedy, the Voice of the Abilene Dragstrip, clocked 11.42 on an 11.30 dial to take the Street Money win. Renee Browing of Merkel was way closer to the dial with a 8.48 on an 8.47 dial but her light was too slow to catch up with Adam. |
| Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: The dice go to Donnie Oliver of Hawley this time, after he won the double red light final against Mike Rogers of Cisco. Mike had the slower dial and left first but his was the first red light, so Donnie takes the win. |
| Pit Bike Race: It was a spilt pot and ten dollars on the light in the final of the pit bike race. Michael Johnston of San Angelo lined up against Leslie Smith of Lamesa for the last lap. Leslie's scooter had been dead consistant, running 8.80ish every round. Michael's bike had so little power that he had to foot-kick the bike with a running start just to get it going. In the Final, Michael "Fred Flinstone"ed the tree with a .025 light and ran 12.98 on a 12.85 for the twn spot. Leslie's bike was there, running 8.82 on an 8.80 dial but a .192 reaction time gave Michael plenty of room to finish line drive - sure, you can do that at 13 MPH. |
