Southwest Superchargers |
| As quick as the Southwest superchargers fly, the final was over way to quick for the last two racers left in competition. Julian Moody (top) was ready for the final round and killed the tree with a .013 reaction time and a posted final ET of 4.83 at 139 MPH in the funny car. Runner up Clay Cunningham was just a bit too quick on the trigger, going -.034 red on the tree and giving the win to Julian. Too bad as Clay had the power to take it all, lighting up the scoreboard with a 4.68 at 142 MPH. Here's how they did by round: |

| Gamblers |
Top ET Gamblers: Jeremy Smith (Lamesa) used a .012 reaction and a 4.91 on a 4.90 dial to take the Top ET Gamblers win away from Michael Johnston (San Angelo). Michael had a good .026 reaction time, but the dragster went too quick and scored a breakout 4.956 under a 4.97 dial to runner up. Jeremy also pocketed a free entry for the Leftover Nationals big money bracket race in November. |
| Modified Gamblers: The Modified Gamblers was over on the line, when Travis Massingill of Snyder (not shown) went -.51 on the tree to give the win to Abilene's Robert Schoemer in the Stealth Pontiac. Robert was ready for him, using just his foot to hit a .018 reaction time and driving to a 8.72 on an 8.69 dial. Travis ran his out also, clocking 6.97 against his 7.00 dial. Robert also scored an entry to the Leftover Nationals. |
| Jr. Dragster Gamblers: Jr. Dragster had a final just like Modified, with one racer going green on the start and one going red. Kimie Lakey got the green light for the win, with Aaron Clarke of Abilene going way red for runner up. It would have been close, as Kimie ran it out to a 8.00 on a 7.98 and Aaron rode his dragster to a 9.23 on a 9.20. Kimie also secured a Leftover Nationals entry for her win. |
