San Angelo went .0002 RED on his launch. Oww, that one is
going to sting for a while. Johnny blasted through with a 6.30

The Texas Pro
Stock Association put on a great show this evening.
Take a look at the By Round data on the Winner's Circle
page and we might be glad they didn't put a dial on these things
and run the brackets. Aaron Hubbard of Fort Worth came out
on top, killing the tree in the final round with a .0019
reaction time and clocking 4.86 at 141.55 MPH. That
reaction time is against a .400 Pro Tree, and the run was made
about 1:30AM on Sunday morning! Aaron went 4.88, 4.88,
4.87 on his way to the final round. Runner Up Richard
Otwell of Conroe held up his end, running 4.88, 4.72, 4.71 on
the way to the final. After all that, he got lit up in the
final and ran an off pace 4.96 at 122 MPH. |

Audio Magic Modified ET: It was all
Abilene in the Modified final. Coming in on the good end of a
double breakout race, Tommy Wade took the win with a 7.556 under his
7.60 dial. Runner up Ross Steffenauer had the better light but
ran a bit farther under his dial, ending up with a 6.506 on a 6.56
dial. |

Longmire Plumbing Jr. Dragster:
Tyler Thorpe from Knickerbocker used a 10.79 on a 10.73 dial to grab
the Jr. win away from Heather Swiney of Merkel. Heather lit
Tyler up on the tree but fell off to a 8.74 on a 8.66 dial to settle
for the runner up spot. |

Max's Kawasaki Motorcycle: John
Choat of Tuscola rode into the Winner's Circle with a 6.46 pass
against his 6.28 dial. Neal Canon of San Angelo missed the
tree and ran John down, only to break out with a 7.16 under his
7.20 dial. Question - John was running 117 MPH in the
lights and the air temp was about 47F. You have to
wonder what the wind chill factor was at the finish line.
Good leathers, eh? |

Rhino Lining of Abilene All Run
Quick: 16 cars qualified for the All Run Quick this
evening. Jeremy Smith of Lamesa cut them down round by
round and was still sharp in the wee hours. In the final, Jeremy
was "quick" on the tree with a .007 light and ran a
5.02 lap against a 5.00 dial for the win. Billy Swiney of
Merkel came close, dialing the Pontiac in at 5.39 and then
running under with a 5.387. Just a little too fast and he
still couldn't cover Jeremy's light. |

Run Quick runner up

Whitten Inn Street Money:
Daniel Pierce from San Angelo took home the win in Street Money
in a double break out final round. Some of that breakout
was deliberate, in that Daniel and runner up Larry Zientek of
Abilene split the money and Larry decided to spray his Mustang
out the back door. So Daniel drives through to a 7.98
against the class minimum of 8.00 for the win. Larry lays
on the nitrous button and flies to a 7.09 @ 95 MPH. |

TSTC West Texas Open Trophy:
Greg Downs came down from Wichita Falls and took home the win in
Open Trophy. Roy Spivey of Abilene drove his red Falcon to
the runner up spot. These guys were still good to go in
the early hours of Sunday morning. Greg went .017 on the
tree and ran a tight 6.544 on a 6.53 dial for the win. Roy
got a just-as-good .020 light but broke out, clocking a 6.63 on
a 6.68 dial. |

Roy Spivey - Open
Trophy runner up. Falcon was already "in bed" on the
trailer.

The Muffler Shoppe Friday Night
Gamblers:
Sambo Tyra took the win in the Friday Gamblers after opponent
David Dean rolled through the lights. The Friday Gamblers
was sponsored by The Muffler Shoppe in Abilene, which salted the
pot with $300. Total payout was over $1200. Be
watching for this on our Dodge Rambunctious Friday Nights - it's
only $35 to get in and it pays back 100% to the racers with a
70/30 split in the final. |
